Brendan Gaughan Pre Race Report - Charlotte

The International MaxxForce Diesel team will utilize chassis CB-27 this weekend at LMS. This is the newest truck in the Circle Bar stable and was tested at Rockingham Speedway last week in preparation for this weekend's race. Kevin Hamlin tested the truck as driver Brendan Gaughan was fulfilling a prior commitment.

GAUGHAN'S THOUGHTS ON LMS: "Lowe's Motor Speedway has always been a good track for me. Me and Ted Musgrave had a great battle a couple of years back and I finished second. I remember what a fun run it was. Even in Nextel Cup I had some good runs here and I enjoy this track. Now I'll be in a Circle Bar Racing truck, and our shop is located in the old Alan Kulwicki building right behind turn two. This is their home track,- just like most of the other teams - and you want to perform in front of all the local fans because this is the hub of NASCAR. I've got a brand new MaxxForce Ford F-150 that the guys just finished up on, and I've got to thank Kevin Hamlin for shaking it down last week at Rockingham. The guys feel real good about what we built and we're going to try to improve on our sixth-place finish at Kansas."

THOUGHTS ON THE RACING SURFACE: "Ever since they repaved the track, it's not as bumpy as it used to be, but I never did mind the bumps. It's a fast, fast race track and we all know I'll be racing on the high line. It's a great track where you can run bottom to top and it's a great racing surface."

ON THE TEAM'S TOP-10 FINISH LAST RACE AT KANSAS: "We've had great runs all season; we just haven't had great finishes. Even with not getting the finishes that the team felt we deserved, we still have been moving up in the points every week. We've been making huge charges at the end of the races and that to me shows signs of progress. We're figuring these Fords out and getting better every week. If you take out that Daytona finish, we're sitting in the top six in points, so I think this is a great opportunity for us to keep our momentum in the busy part of the season, and it starts with the home track at Lowe's."
